Rat Reactions and Reflections

Happy New Year Everyone! Welcome to the Year of the Rat.

The Rat is believed to be a protector and bringer of material prosperity. It is an animal associated with aggression, wealth, charm, and order. However, it is also associated with war, death, the occult, pestilence and atrocities.

According to legend (this is a Chinese legend so make room for some losses in translation), the Rat centuries ago won a race among the animals, besting even the faster Ox and the galloping Horse simply by being clever. The Rat jumped on the back of the Ox and jumped off its head before it could cross the finish line.

A Rat Year is a time of hard work, activity, and renewal. This is a good year to begin a new job, get married, launch a product or make a fresh start. Ventures begun now may not yield fast returns, but opportunities will come for people who are well prepared and resourceful. The best way for you to succeed is to be patient, let things develop slowly, and make the most of every opening you can find. People born in an Earth Rat are said to be logical realists, shrewd, charming, ambitious, and inventive. Of course, the entire horoscope must be considered when making any personality assessment.

So, for those of you with some dire wishes for the New Year, take care of those rats now. Rather than pearls, wear the Rat balls, put on a Rat's smile (a toothsome one), and Ratpee' perfume! Ugh! Visit your local seer for some occult sessions (Rat Seance to call on more Rats) rather than the mall. Be patient in your business ventures as the Rat year is for good beginnings, the fruits will take awhile to come (it has to be taken from someone else's plate!). Don't wear mink, choose Rat fur instead. Whatever opportunity or opening you find, go for it - just see to it that it isn't a Rat's ass!

For the men looking for female partners, single out the eek, eek, eeky ones from the crowd; that's definitely a little mouse you'd want to show to mama. For the women seeking a male partner, latch on to the one who seems to collect and stash everything from the bar, the tables, or the handbags of others, into his coat or trouser pockets; especially those that wear dark glasses even at night inside a club. This will be your ticket to enormous material wealth. Or the penitentiary. :-)

I will watch out too, for anyone who attempts to take anything I worked hard for, away from me. Those are the people an old actor named James Cagney called "You Dirty Rat".

Haaarrrrwwwk...Twooooph...Ting!
