McCain's Manic Manifestations of Malevolence

Last Wednesday's Final Debate showed Barack Obama as Presidential, while John McCain projected himself like a candidate. McCain was making faces, rolling his eyes and smirking; compared to Obama who would grin widely and maintain his composure. John McCain's antics were self-destructive, since coming from an aging prisoner of war in an infamous war lost decades ago, he was acting like a senile old man suffering from attacks of second childhood - or is it his fourth?

The image below is not photo shopped nor altered in any manner whatsoever. It shows John McCain failing to contain himself and seemingly out to grab Barack Obama's butt to lick it. Or, it is a reflection of McCain's frustration at the failure of his campaign and an admission that his is a lost cause.

This picture says a lot of things. He was trying to be funny and comical in a forum which was not appropriate for such modes of behavior. What was his mindset at this moment? Did he believe he could win votes with this actuation? Or has he just lost it? If this was a joke, the joke's on John McCain. He really blew what little chance he had. Or perhaps John McCain is finally coming out of the closet, like so many of his fellow God fearing righteous conservatives who seduce pages or solicit in men's rooms.

McCain beats them all, his was on worldwide television. America's future president the ass licker. This is what he would probably do to deal with foreign leaders. This ass licking foreign policy, coming from a veteran of an unjust war, where he perhaps had a lot of practice to stay alive - is the bedrock of his foreign relations experience. How heroic. It's has become scary to hear him say "I'm behind you all the way".

He just can't stop being McCain! I watched him and Obama last night, and I have to tell ya, McCain is naturally a funny guy. He even had me laughing. His wit was sharp and smart, and since they were in a bit of a less formal setting, this was okay. You are right that it has no place on a debate stage or formal press conference, and it is costing him points. He shows himself to be someone with a definite lack of self control in certain moments, which is of course, already being said about his temper.

Obama is doing the right thing by smiling graciously, and sticking to the topic. It's this grace under pressure that's going to help him make it all the way, I think.

Have no ill will for McCain, just don't want to see him as president.
I would, however, be interested in seeing him take over for Jay Leno as the new host of the Tonight Show. He really is FUNNY! Quite a pistol, that McCain! :)

Oh, by the way, it was a memorial dinner they were at that was televised live. They both traded jokes and soft jabs, but McCain was way funnier! :)

In addition to his intelligence and a number of his policies, Obama has a sort of quiet dignity that i think has been missing from the office of the president for far too long. The last thing the US needs is another goofball in the White House...and i'm not even referring to that maddening Palin person...

McCain was a much funnier sort at last night's Alfred E Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner. The biggest problem for JmAC is his real life politics are nearly as funny...some may say moreso...An American Statesman and war hero yes....Our next President....God help us....

Are you kidding? I can't believe this picture is real!

If so, I'd be the last to vote for McCain. Oh wait: I'd rather sell my soul to the devil than voting for him, anyway :D

Hi Fitness Diva,

When he is in the right mood, he can indeed be funny. But there are occasions when he should know it is inappropriate.

Politicians tend to misrepresent a lot of things about what they actually do, think, feel and about who they really are. Fact checks have revealed the extent to which John McCain has overstated his accomplishments and/or turned several events into meanings that were never there.

However, I do believe he could give Jon Stewart a run for his money, that is, if he can hold his temper. :-) --Durano, done!

Hi Again Fitness Diva,

I didn't get to see that memorial dinner. I'm sure he could better Barack Obama in witty remarks and be funnier. Obama has a well crafted image borne out of his experience as an African American having to live and deal with Caucasians. He studied their psyche' pretty well, and he has maintained that developed deportment throughout his very public exposure since the primaries.

I suppose a more "loose" Obama will surface if he wins the presidency. :-) --Durano, done!

Hi "r"

You certainly have been peeved by the Sarahcuda. LOL!

As I wrote in response to the Fitness Diva's comment, Obama has carefully nurtured this image for acceptance by the white majority.

He is seen as soft spoken and gentle, not arrogant nor full of angst because of his racial background; he projects intelligence and dignity, not swagger nor audacity; he is respectful but not subservient; he moves with smooth gestures and exudes ease in adapting, not sudden jerks nor jumpy, excitable bursts of motion. These are what the "white man" would respect and consider as acceptable. This is one reason why he was tagged as "not black enough" by Jesse Jackson.

He is a refreshing change and a credit to his race. He comes on as American, without color - which he has crafted from the start of his campaign. He talks like a white, moves like a white, and does not focus on the difficulties nor generations of suffering of his ancestry, but focuses on the future and what can be achieved. He does not "impose guilt" on the whites as whites are wont to expect from African Americans. His eloquence and his masterful use of language is the final piece in the image he projects. He's smart more than he shows himself to be, and he would surely put a fresh image of America in the global community. :-) --Durano, done!

Hi Tommy,

This was the televised show that the Fitness Diva mentioned, I suppose.

You're right about his being funny, and his politics too is funny in a fuzzier kind of way. He has a number of accomplishments to his credit but he is trapped in the conservative expectations of the Party's most influential bloc.

I still have some hesitations about his being a hero, if you can call being a POW heroic. The events leading to his being shotdown in Vietnam have inconsistencies.

While he did refuse to be freed and chose to be with fellow prisoners, he could have been embarrassed by the privilege or feared he was going to be singled out for some sort of ransom. But this is questioning his motive which no one can ever truly prove. I guess I'm just wary of his intentions because of the nature of his conduct prior to being captured and detained for 5 or so years. :-) --Durano, done!

Hi Zhu,

Your comment put a wide grin on my face :-)

You really think that John McCain is worse than selling your soul to the devil? LOL!

He could be funnier than the devil, at least you'll get to enjoy some good laughs. Honestly, I think he could be a good lawmaker and perhaps, even an Ambassador. Who knows, perhaps he can make Putin laugh hard enough to soften the Russian leader?

But he reminds me of a funny grandfather, and if that's all he is to me, he's very cool. As President, I don't think so too. :-) --Durano, done!

His childish antic will definitely cost him some votes. I would not vote for a president who makes fun of other people, even in jest.

It's not a behavior tolerable for a president.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Jena Isle,

I believe this is the end of the road for John McCain. Whatever hopes he had of reviving his campaign is over.

For me, the end came when his party ran a series of negative campaign ads that sowed intense hatred and divisiveness and resurrected a centuries old racist evil against Obama with murderous undertones. His feeble attempt at calming his rally goers was unconvincing.

I didn't want to think positively about John McCain's campaign after that. I was simply waiting for it to implode. :-) --DSurano, done!

Hi Recycle Phone,

WELCOME!

It's for Obama to win or lose, but complacency will do them in as in the two previous Presidential elections. The Democrats have to be vigilant. :-) --Durano, done!
