Gratitude for a Great and Generous Gift

There is no greater honor than being recognized and awarded by one whom the Spitting Vessel has the highest regard for as a human being, a mother, a genteel woman, and artist of immense talent and generosity. Kim Barker of Laketrees, has conducted one of the most meaningful competitions on the blogosphere; and, for the third time, has offered a portrait of the winner's choice of subject, which she will execute herself and pay for its transport to the winner's location. Beyond the monetary value of the gift that goes into thousands of dollars is the priceless meaning of this creation that will last several lifetimes. The competition for this overwhelming Christmas gift this year was won by the Spitting Vessel.

The gratitude that this site has for this valued gift cannot be expressed in words, since the meaning and purpose of this victory represents a symbol between parent and child, father and daughter, baby boomer and generation X; where bonds of deep affection and respect will be enriched by trust and faith. Trust in the choice made for a lifetime partner and in the manner in which that choice was nurtured by discernment, resulting from sound parental guidance; and faith in the efforts exerted to provide the proper upbringing for children within one's capacity and means, regardless of how imperfect the provider is, or the number of missteps and flaws that transpired in the process. And in this symbol, the Spitting Vessel is privileged to to say that Kim Barker has serendipitously contributed much to its fulfillment. Her kind nature and innate generosity has crossed paths with the need to seal these bonds, to blend perfectly with the unspoken message that required a wordless representation.

To Kim Barker and Laketrees, thank you very much. To Jan Dean who judged the entries, the Spitting Vessel realizes it was a difficult choice and anyone could have won. But this site thanks you for the criteria you made and for the decision you have arrived at. :-) --Durano, done!

Hello Kim,

The thanks goes to you Kim. I believe I will have a very enjoyable week as a result of this gift, which could last a lifetime.

I will send the photos at the latest on Monday.

Best regards. :-) --Durano, done!

Hi Zhu,

You're teasing me aren't you? :-)

That option of going into politics is out of the question. Having done that in college, I wouldn't want to inflict that headache on myself again. I'd rather do humanitarian work, it's more honorable, decent, respectable, and contributes to the development and empowerment of the human race. Politics is for those who can stomach the scrutiny of even the most private aspects of your life, and infer various negative possibilities on a person's disposition based even on the most miniscule and insignificant fact.:-) --Durano, done!

Congratulation for winning the competition; I believe you won for very good reasons. I agree with you that the value of this gift cannot be expressed in words and that it will last several lifetimes. This gift simply is one of the gifts in life that is priceless. I have just one thing to say, which I believe a lot of others will agree on, you truly deserve such a great and generous gift from another who is just as great and generous too.

Hi Lilly,

Thanks very much. It is a wonderful gift from someone I truly consider special. I've known her only through the digital world but the aura of her personality comes through very clearly and well.

It is a precious gift for me and my family, but Kim is the precious gift for us all who have the privilege of being in touch with her and getting to know her through the internet.

Thanks for dropping by. :-) --Durano, done!

Hi bk,

Thank you very much and thank you too for the kind words.

There is generosity in everyone, sometimes they just don't realize it. For others, it is more openly expressed. Kim's generosity is, I believe, far too advanced for mine. And you're very generous with your comments too. And you deserve lots of generosity yourself for what you do and all the effort you take in providing information to others in your blog.

Thanks for dropping by. :-) --Durano, done!

Congratulations! You're surely one of the more thoughtful, well-informed, and comprehensively alliterative writers i've met.

The kudos - both from Kim and your legions of fans - are well-deserved :)

thank you
and thank you to everyone for your kind kind words too ...you have made my day :)
ps Durano
you would have made an excellent PM/President if you had chosen to go down that road ;)

Hi Jenaisle,

Thanks. I believe we all are generous. You are one of the most generous people I've encountered on the internet as well. Take care. :-) --Durano, done!

Hi r,

Thanks for the compliments. In truth, there are times I have the post all written up but can't think of a title that would satisfy my addiction to alliteration. LOL!

Between you and Zen, i guess there are10 others, hardly a legion eh? But you and the rest are more my friends than fans. Although I do idolize some of those I'm fortunate enough to be friends with.

You're one thoughtful and informative writer yourself, and you remain a constant enigma (in a pleasant way)to me. :-)

Have a nice weekend. :-) --Durano, done!

Hi Amy,

You're absolutely right, she is special. Aren't we all fortunate to know her?

Thanks again for the congratulatory message. Have a nice weekend. :-) --Durano, done!

Hello Kim,

I've e-mailed the photos. It's the only solo shot there was. I couldn't locate the others, although I know there were several photos taken of her solo. Anyway, I hope it meets your requirements. I hope your arm is fully healed and will not act up anew on account of this gift.:-)

A PM/ or President?? As I said, being a humanitarian and development consultant is a lot better Kim. When you are in that top position, you get suroounded by a cordon sanitaire who could be psychopants out to use their proximity to power for self aggrandizement. This will never be known to the PM/President until much later.

Maybe when you put up your own country which you mentioned sometime ago, there I'll be willing to be Prime Misister, even if I minister only to sheep. LOL! Have a great weekend!:-) --Durano, done!

DD, I'm so thrilled for you to have won such a fabulous - and personal - prize. You really deserve something like this, and it's delightful that karmic law held true, and delivered it to you. :-)

Layne! Hi!,

Thank you for the congratulatory greetings.

I have a lot of other things to thank you for. Like calling on other bloggers to support and visit my site because of the absence. I'll never forget that generosity and friendship.

I'm out of that hell hole but we will return in January to assess the completion of the other structures and installations.

It's the people that I truly feel for. I hope that lightning does wonders to those who ruthlessly rule those gentle citizens.

Thanks very much Layne. Take care. :-) --Durano, done!

Even in the most sexually liberated and self-satisfied of nations, many people still yearn to burn more, to feel ready for bedding no matter what the clock says and to desire their partner of 23 years as much as they did when their love was brand new.
The market is saturated with books on how to revive a flagging libido or spice up monotonous sex, and sex therapists say “lack of desire” is one of the most common complaints they hear from patients, particularly women.
